My thoughts on the New Year

Hello and welcome to today’s blog on Stephen Niven – Mainly about video games! In this blog post I am going to be blogging about my thoughts on the New Year; and what strengths and strives I hope to create in 2017.

If you had seen my previous blog about Christmas 2016, then you probably would of noticed that I talked briefly about my own personal life. This is something I do not like to delve into too much – because to be honest I would rather be ‘quiet than loud’ about it. Anyway, as this is my first blog post of the year, I thought that it would be a good idea to write about what I hope to get up to in 2017. Let’s hope that this year can bring some well needed good luck back to me!

There is one major event that is happening this year, and this is finishing college in late June. I started college back in September 2015, and while although I found my first few months there difficult due to personal reasons; it has been a mostly successful experience. It has enabled me to give myself a more clear idea on what I would like to do in the future, and has also allowed me to meet new friends and colleagues. Now then, the reason why I am saying that leaving college is a major event is because I have no aspirations of going to university – which means that I will be going straight into the world of work! I’m looking forward to going into the workplace, but I am nervous about it as well.

Well actually; when thinking about it, there is also another major event that is happening this year, and this is my 18th birthday. I can’t believe that in nearly six months time I will be an adult! I’m feeling the same about my birthday as I am for going into the workplace – which is that I am looking forward to it but feeling nervous about it too. I presume that like previous birthdays, I will be able to do the ‘gaming presents list’, where I am given a maximum of £100 spending limit to spend on video games. Also, I don’t actually have college the day after it, so I may decide to get drunk on the night! Bringing that aside, I have high hopes that I will be able to celebrate this event with my family and close friends.

So in conclusion, I feel that this current year ahead will be a big one for me, and will allow myself to go through new experiences and things in life, as well as hopefully allowing me to improve my own personal life. Obviously however though, you can never expect with what will happen in the future – because things can change in the blink of an eye. Take 2016 as an example – as you didn’t expect for all those celebrities to die did you? Anyway, repeating what I said earlier, I hope that this year can bring back some well needed good luck to me.
